According to this Honest John Article, Volkswagen are set to be hit with massive recall costs due to problems with their famous DSG gearbox.
“384,181 vehicles were recalled to replace defective gearboxes that may result in the loss of acceleration.
Models include the Golf, Magotan, Sagitar and Audi A3″
The cost to Volkswagen is initially estimated to be $600 million, not exactly change you find at the back of the sofa!
This could spell an end of people’s affection for the German brand and may see consumer’s look east when purchasing their next car considering the increased warranties and impressive reliability ratings associated with Korean and Japanese manufacturers.
